Lace up your running shoes, the Tarragona Half Marathon is fast approaching! As has been the tradition for over 25 years, the "City of Tarragona" Half Marathon & 10K takes place in November. Around 2,500 participants fill the city’s streets (which are closed to vehicular traffic) as they strive to complete their personal challenge.
 

"L’embutada" is the name given to the celebration marking the arrival of the new wine and its tasting. The festival revives an old custom from the traditional wineries and taverns of the "Part Alta" (the historic upper town), where locals would gather to sample the first wine of the year. The wine was shared using a tin funnel with an angled spout, the symbol of the festival, and tradition dictated that whoever finished the very last drop from the funnel had to pay for the round.
